Among the 100-plus exhibitors, a focus of the show
was the fashion-show stage, where models displayed
bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses and tuxedoes, and
dancers demonstrated the latest steps.

The doors opened at noon on
Sunday, Oct. 30, and brides-
to-be, their fiances, mothers,
sisters, and girlfriends
streamed into the exhibit
hall. More than 100 vendors
representing every specialty
were waiting to show
off their products and
services. Most important,
brides and vendors were there
to get acquainted with each
other. The sixth annual Cape
Fear Wedding Show returned to the
Wilmington Convention Center, which
first opened to the public at our show
the previous year. The Convention
Center is Southeastern North Carolina’s
only facility designed from the ground
up to host consumer and trade shows
like this one. By holding our show in this
spacious venue, Cape Fear Wedding
ensures brides will be able to meet,
greet and evaluate the widest possible
selection of wedding professionals.

Exhibitors at the 2011 show included wedding planners, bridal shops, jewelers, beauty salons, hairdressers and makeup artists, health spas, officiants, reception sites, caterers, beer and wine dealers, cake bakers, ice sculptors, florists, tent and furniture rental firms, disc jockeys, musicians, dance instructors, photographers, photo booths, videographers, limousine companies, hotels, travel agents, honeymoon destinations, gift vendors, bridal registries, real estate sales and rental agents and financial planners.
Visitors could take a break from strolling the aisles to relax in the lounge and watch the fashion show. The tables in the lounge area were a showcase for a dozen florists, designers and planners who displayed their decorating talents.
