The bridal planner for Wilmington and the beaches of Southeastern North Carolina

Robin, 24, is a stickler for at least one tradition: Fiance Chris Campbell, also of Wilmington, isn’t allowed to see these pictures before his wedding day. (We’ll tear this page out of Chris’ copy of the book.) SEE: Groom’s checklist. Go

Fixing her Finery

Robin Meyer
of Wilmington is planning her August wedding, to be held at the Bellamy Mansion.

In the fall of 2005, shortly after becoming engaged, she selected an Oleg Cassini gown, with a hand-embroidered, beaded lace bodice and full organza skirt, from the David’s Bridal store in Pineville, near Charlotte.

In April 2006, Robin brought the dress to David’s Wilmington store to be fitted. It turned out that no alteration was needed other than bustling the train.

   Next task: Choosing a veil.

With Stepmom Kate Meyer, Robin looks for the perfect veil. Her choice: A simple elbow-length piece with tiny pearl clusters, complementing the beading on her gown.

To beat August
heat, the ceremony is scheduled for early evening, on the back steps above the shady rear garden of the Bellamy Mansion.

Robin’s bridesmaids will wear dresses in apricot with pink sashes and accents.
