A favorite wedding video
We love this video, which shows just how marvelous a wedding party can be, and the value
of a film-maker's eye and professional editing. It also shows a little bit about our
publisher's cultural roots.

One of our favorite wedding videos
Our publisher's ancestral homeland is the mountainous corner
of Ukraine known as Ruthenia or Transcarpathia. We recently discovered this video of a wedding
party in one of the region's rural villages, and thought it was too much fun not to share.
The featured band is called "Hudaki" which means simply "musicians."
Based in the Transcarpathia region, the group has developed a following across Europe.
Besides showcasing the musicians, this video shows that many aspects
of weddings are universal across cultures, including the importance of the bride's and groom's
finery; the music and dancing; the toasts (local wine and vodka in this case); the food; and
even transportation for the guests. (In our culture it's traditional for the bride's family
to supply the dump trucks.)
Here are some links to Cape Fear area vendors who can provide some of
the products and services shown here, including video editing. (Though we don't know of any
professional caterers around here who can make a huge pot of halupky as expertly as
the Ruthenian babushky seen here.)
