How the Wedding Association Works for Brides and Grooms Helping you plan your wedding and protecting your peace of mind As you plan your wedding, the Cape Fear Wedding Association can be a valuable resources for you in several ways. Use the directory of our members to find vendors in a wide range of specialities. Professional Standards In choosing among competing vendors, it can be reassuring to know that members of the Cape Fear Wedding Association follow a code of business ethics intended to protect their clients. Association members have agreed to be bound by our Code of Ethics and are reviewed by their professional colleagues to uphold the reputation of Cape Fear area wedding professionals. All membership applications are reviewed for eligibility by the Association's president, and are subject to additional review by the Association's Membership and Standards Committee in case of questions about the applicant's business practices, business history or legal status. Complaint and Mediation Procedures The Association offers our members' clients, at no cost, a formal process for hearing complaints about members and mediating disputes between members and their clients. If you do business with Association-member vendors, you won't be on your own. Referral networks Association members say one of the most valuable benefits they get from membership is the numerous networking opportunities. Members can recommend other vendors they know and trust. One of the best ways to ensure your wedding and reception live up to your expectations is to choose wedding professionals who work well with one another. Information and planning resources Among the Association's charter members are the publishers of greater Wilmington's three locally published wedding planning publications. These guidebooks and magazines, and their websites, offer bridal couples a wealth of timely information about venues, trends, and vendors throughout the Cape Fear region. All three are free for brides and available at numerous locations. Two other media members, Cape Fear Bride and InsiderInfo.us, also offer information for brides.
