Beach weddings
To get married on the beach at
Wrightsville Beach, you need to apply for a special event permit through the parks and recreation department.
Fees range from $100 for parties up to 25 people, to $400 for 500 or more participants.

If you will have 200 or more people, you may need to provide portable toilets, and you
must get a “Group Activity Permit.” This must be approved by the town's Board of Aldermen, which meets
twice a month, so don't wait until the last minute. Approval is usually a formality, but expect the board
to ask about parking for a large wedding. Parking spaces near the beach are scarce on summer weekends. It's
not possible to reserve spaces.
The parks department recommends using a shuttle service to get your guests to and from
the beach and avoid parking hassles. SEE: transportation. Another option is a
valet parking service. SEE: valet parking.
To apply, write to Wrightsville Beach Parks & Recreation, P.O. Box 626, Wrightsville
Beach, NC 28480, or call (910) 256-7925 for more information.
