Tips for lovers
Have bottles of Gatorade
or vitamin-enhanced flavored waters for
your guests. This combats the main cause of a hangover, which is alcohol’s
dehydrating effect on the body.
If you alternate every alcoholic drink with a glass
of water or a sports drink, it will keep you hydrated and slow down the
intoxication process. Replacing your body’s electrolytes and vitamin C during
the evening will do wonders the morning after.
But you are suffering, start by rehydrating, and take
a multi-vitamin.
If your eyes are bloodshot, lie down and apply a cool
compress of wet tea bags. If your face is puffy, lie down for 10 minutes with
a bag of ice on your face.
For nausea, drink a cup of ginger tea or ginger ale,
or chew on a few slices of fresh or candied ginger. Dry toast or crackers can
help as well. Avoid acidic juices and fatty foods.
