Have you ever stood around for an hour or more at a wedding reception, waiting for the bridal party to show up?
If so, you might want to reconsider the old tradition of taking the formal, posed photos immediately after the ceremony. Many couples are opting to do their “formals,” with attendants and family, before the wedding.
But what about the “rule” that says the groom should never, ever see his bride before the ceremony begins?
That tradition dates to the time of arranged marriages, when there was a real danger that the groom might panic and run away if he laid eyes on his “intended” before the wedding began.
Doing formal shots first gives you more choice of settings, as well as letting you greet your guests promptly.
