Choosing china
Consider likes and dislikes in picking dishes

Since there are so many choices of dinnerware, losely called "china," available, it might help if you and your fiance' wrote down your likes and dislikes.
For example, what colors do you really like or dislike? Do you want a lot of design, a little design, or plain plates to let the food do the decorating? Do you want soup bowls to be usable also for cereal or sauces? Do you want salad plates which can be used for sandwiches and snacks?
The types of dinnerware are: porcelain (the finest), bone china (fine and less breakable), china, stoneware (heavy in cozy colors), pottery (fun but chippable), and plastic. Almost any plate can withstand a brief trip through the microwave.
Your bridal registry can be of great help to you because it's their specialty. So choose carefully and enjoy your meals!
